📚 POST OF LIBRARIAN
Academic Route (any one of the following):
- A First or Second Class (Upper Division) in a Special Degree, OR
- A Second Class (Lower Division) in a Special Degree, or a First/Second Class (Upper Division) in a General Degree, OR
- A pass in a Degree Examination plus a Postgraduate Degree (minimum 2 academic years) in Library and Information Sciences, including a thesis/dissertation component.
Plus: A Master's Degree in Library & Information Science (minimum 2 years full-time or equivalent part-time, with a research component) or a Doctoral Degree.
Plus: A record of publications in the Library and Information Sciences field.
Plus: At least 15 years of experience after the first degree — or 10 years after the postgraduate qualification — in Librarianship at a recognized library and/or research in Library and Information Sciences.
Plus: Candidates must meet the minimum marks set out in the Marking Scheme for this post.
📌 Note: A postgraduate qualification recognized for appointment as Assistant Librarian will not earn credit toward requirement (2) above.
Salary Code: U-AC 5 (II)
Salary Scale: Rs. 198,280 – 13 x Rs. 4,850 – Rs. 261,330 per month
Additional Allowances:
- Academic Allowance: 124% + Rs. 13,300
- Research Allowance: 21% (based on research activity)
- Cost of Living Allowance: Rs. 17,800 per month
