EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI)

External Resource Persons Wanted for Grades 6–9 Curriculum Work
Junior Secondary Education — Sinhala, Tamil & English Media
NIE is looking to bring on board experienced educators, researchers and subject specialists to help shape the next round of curriculum work for Grades 6–9, spanning all three languages of instruction. The goal is to strengthen the quality of junior secondary education nationwide.
🎯 WHERE YOU COULD CONTRIBUTE
✍️ Writing Panel — drafting new curriculum content and learning materials
📝 Editing Panel — polishing content for clarity, structure and quality
🔍 Review Committee — independently assessing finished curriculum products
🎓 Training of Trainers (ToT) — leading capacity-building sessions for educators
🌐 Translation & Language Editing — keeping content accurate and consistent across languages
👥 ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS
🎓 University academics — from Senior Professors down to Lecturers at recognized Sri Lankan universities
👨‍🏫 Teacher-education staff — SLTES members attached to NCoEs, Teacher Training Colleges, and Teacher Development Centres
🏫 School-sector officers — from SLEAS, SLPS, SLTAS and SLTS
🖥️ Field specialists — technical experts, ICT professionals, language editors and assessment specialists
📋 SELECTION & SAFEGUARDS
Shortlisting is based on qualifications, relevant experience, and overall professional standing, with NIE aiming for fair representation across provinces, gender, and language media.
🔒 Anyone assigned to a Review Committee cannot have already worked on the Writing, Editing or Training panel for that same product — keeping the review independent
💰 Payment follows standard Government Financial Regulations and NIE's own guidelines
📢 For transparency, the names, designations, institutions and roles of everyone selected will be listed on the official NIE website
📮 APPLICATION STEPS
1. Get the EOI form from www.nie.ac.lk
2. Put together your CV, certified copies of your qualifications, proof of relevant experience, and state which role(s) you're interested in (Writing, Editing, Review, Training, or Translation)
3. Post the completed set of documents by registered mail
✍️ On the envelope's top-left corner, write: "EOI – External Resource Person – [YOUR SUBJECT AREA]"
