CALLING APPLICATIONS FOR THE
11th INTAKE — INTEREST FREE STUDENT LOAN SCHEME
For students who passed the G.C.E. (Advanced Level) Examination in 2023, 2024 or 2025

- Simple (S) passes in all three subjects, obtained in one and the same sitting, within not more than three attempts at the G.C.E. (A/L) examination in 2023, 2024 or 2025, AND
- A minimum of 30 marks for the Common General Test at the same sitting described above, AND
- Simple (S) pass for General English at the G.C.E. (A/L), OR Simple (S) pass for English at the G.C.E. (O/L), AND
- Candidates must be 25 years of age or below as at 27.09.2026.
- Whether the applicant meets the minimum qualification for that programme
- The order of preference the applicant listed for each degree programme
- The number of seats allocated by the relevant Degree Awarding Institute for each programme
- When applications exceed available seats, selection is decided by merit based on the applicant's Z-Score at the relevant G.C.E. (A/L) examination.
Rs. 1,500,000.00
The maximum amount available depends on the field of study — check the Student Handbook for the exact figure applicable to your programme. Students can also apply for a monthly interest-free stipend of Rs. 75,000/- as part of this loan facility.
The total loan period runs for 12 years. Interest during the study period (3 or 4 years) plus a one-year grace period is fully borne by the Government.
Repayment is completed through 84 equal installments (for 4-year programmes) or 96 equal installments (for 3-year programmes).
